Gutter cleaning video
« on: November 22, 2007, 07:28:05 am »
Here's a short video of us cleaning gutters yesterday. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=8QMVQ1AvbacIt's filmed on a mobile so excuse the quality but I've put this up as several people seem to think this machine doesn't work!
We cleaned 186 metres in just under 4 hours.
The machine is the  Gutter Keeper and I believe Ionics are now the sole importers.

How much was the machine, and is it any good at sucking out water.  I had a gutter to do yesterday and the guttering wasn't level, so a load of muck and water had collected one end.  Can the vac get out really really wet stuff?

Simon.

Good video by the way.

Rod,

How much did the system cost?

How do you tackle gutters where the roof tiles hang over half of the gutter as the nozzle looks very big and bulky?

I use an extendable lance with gutter attachment hooked up to a pressure washer and it does a very good job.

Rod,

Do you have a before and after shot of the inside of the gutter, I have a video of mine but would not put the results on line!!!

it didnt look that good as it seemed to keep getting clogged i think i will stick to a ladder or pressure hose for gutters.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

it looks like the gutter was full of dried leaves so its easier for them to vac it up  ???
plus theres no way that that would suck up the wet heavy moss.
it dont look very good  ??? ???

It was wet sludge on the bottom covered by leaves. It has no problem in sucking up wet moss as this is what has been in most of the jobs I've done so far.
If you're using a lance and are happy with it then great but I've put this up as I know it works and works well but it will obviously be knocked as Ionics now sell it!

Does look very slow on the vid.

I use a pole and attachment and clear 6 foot at a time I insure for this as we do quite a bit also fixing. Anyone that clears gutters check with your insurance policy as this has to be added  ;)
I am guessing the vid was just to show how it works and not or the speed side of things :-\ good on you for taking the time to make vid and add it.

I cant knock the safety side of it and would look great in a customers eye and would command a higher price.
