Protectakote

Put my first cote on today.  After i went out and collected some money, i got home and i feel sick and light headed  :-\   i should of left the window open ,lol

B4 and after pics,  doing cote numbert 2 2morrow

OOPS!!!

You should have also coated the sides up to around 6 inches and also gone over the wheelarch covers.  And.. yeah I know all about the little "trip" u can go on  lol  :)  :o

Hi Easy,

Your van looks nice, i will i will have to pain upwards a little more on my 2morrow when im do cote number 2.. :)

your setup looks nice aswell

me too, i did above arches and a little above floor just to make sure. and this stuff gets you as high as a kite  ::)

you will see i went a little over the arches, as I put wet brushes etc on there, and I dont want the ply at the sides getting wet so 2/3 inches above same after the arches, just incase i get flooded  ;D

p.s before anyones says anything, it has masking tape on in the pics

drop a little resin on that nice smooth hammerite, and all I will say is sore somethings  ;)

M8 I looked like a smurf on drugs by the time I finished had a whale of a time though, even done a hand print on the back door as I wanted to paint everything    ;D

Thanks for the comment...what size tank you having in the van,it nice to see a few more pics when finshed....Oh did you get the protectakote on your clothes,I did and on the arms too ::)

it seems everyone like a bit of the blue eh ::)
Tell me is it a good idea to coat the ply you have done....will it last for ages on it?

Dean,
got the blue protectakote from here at http://www.cleaningspot.co.uk/acatalog/van_bedliner.html ....£48.50 +vat.
I've use nearly half the tin....
Any chance I can se a pic of your outcome of the hammerite you applied to your van? :D

I took up the ply from the floor, and painted floor, is also took off the sides added a little insulation which is in the pic then new 9mm ply, then painted it, that should last ages, I went for blue as it is one of my company colours :) sad i know but true,

the reason for the paint on the ply is I put wet brushes in the wheel arches and I dont want water getting on the ply so pained a couple of inches above the arches aswell to be on the safe side

Yeah on cote number 2 i got it everywhere ,. hands , trouser, and places oin the van it shouldnt  be   >:(  but i have finished it now!

Will upload morepics when  more is done :)

Allso i see you live in the same area as me, anychance i can come see your gear in action as i have not yet used wfpor seen it being used

Ref that pic of your van with the fibreglass wool stuffed into the void

now i have fitted out vans as a carpenter, im also heavily into the VW campervan scene, you will trap moisture in that void with that Wool, and it'll cause the van to rot from the inside out
