Most of mine are quick payers but for work such as builders cleans can take months,i did a builders clean once for a houseing assoc and it took nearly a year of chasing to get payment, never again. The best thing to do with commercial is to get them to pay you by BACS ie straight into the bank like there other employees,as soon as you submit your invoice you should get paid on there next pay run.

normally 30 days after the invoice date for me, there are a couple i allow to pay every 3 months, this is only as it doesn't amount to much.

On my invoices I put "................within 14 days unless a prior agreement exists between us...........".   I usually get it within 14 days too.  However, some can take 4 weeks.  Sometimes I have to send a reminder with the second invoice and get paid for two cleans.  One of them pays after 60 days and they always owe me for either one or two cleans.  I send the invoice plus the reminder and each time they just pay the older invoice.  I'm OK with that but I hope they don't go belly up as it means that they always owe me.
