Hi all,

I've been looking at Eberspacher van heaters. I've recently upgraded to a bigger van (vauxhall movano mwb). I had a small electric heater in my last van (vauxhall vivaro) which I ran from extension lead from the house. Dont think it will be upto the job of protecting equipment in bigger van.

Anyone use the Eberspacher diesel heaters? Are they any good?

Expensive new but seen a couple on ebay second hand for a decent price.

Any advice appreciated.

a 100 wat light blub does the job in ours, rember you don't want it warm just not frezzing, try it in the cab you won't get ice on the windscreen either.
Good thing about a light blub it element is sealed so if you have a petrol tm you won't ignited any vapour. very very cheap just buy a trailing light from wicks or b&q cost about £10
just don't use a low enegry blub

I used to use  a 100watt light bulb under a old quilt covering the t/m,  but now I use a blower heater so it circulates around the van and the protects the wands, handtools & solution lines.

bugger this light bulb crap  get a full on night heater like a Eberspacher d2 but heres a little tip buy one from german ebay  much cheapper

Hi Jason,
I can thoroughly recommend the eberspacher,yes they are expensive but worth it. If the person who's buying my van at the end of the month doesn't want it mines for sale, fully serviced and with new fan motor fitted. It has a digital timer with  it so you can programme when it comes on and off, let me know

Look back on here on equipment sales and there is a guy who sells them regularly on ebay.

They go for about £250 with fitting kit etc etc.

Just waiting for 'er with the money to say yes you  can have one.

I'd rather go the eberspacher route as running an extension lead out to the van every night does my head in! Always concerned me shutting the back doors on the cable as well.

Dave please let me know about your unit, sounds exactly what I'm looking for if the price is right . If not will pick one up on ebay.

As winter draws in they get harder to get on ebay.

The time to buy is in the summer really.

Or you could buy new, you should get some change from £500.
