What do you do to maintain your telescopic pole? Luke

When it feels a bit gritty I fully extend it and point a hose up the end of the pole and allow the water to flush all of the muck out the brush end and from between the clamps. Then hold the brush end up in the air to allow the water and muck back out of the bottom of the pole. Do this several times. Then spray the outside of the pole clean focusing on the clamps. That's the sum total of my maintenance. Some people then apply a thin coat of polish to the sections.

If a pole gets really bad then you can take the clamps to pieces and clean around the guides and clean off the impacted dirt from the inside face of the clamp collars.

yeah, I've read all of that, but the trouble is I cleaned my pole out with my hose today after work ( cleaning my street!!!! ) and the grit seemed to get worse. I extended the whole pole and didnt close the clamps ( so grit could get out of the gaps ) then i sprayed loads of water down it, grit has become dislodged and now its worse! Luke

I did exactly the same thing Alex, to the word! but I also polished my pole, it was amazing how heavy it was when I lifted it up with all the water in it! Luke

If it feels worse then carry on flushing!

I use a mains water hose rather than my Pure water as the flow rate from the mains is more effective.

Try flushing inside the clamps by directing the water into the gaps between the clamps.

I did just that Alex, with mains pressure and into the gaps around the clamps, Luke

Nothing else but to take the pole apart and give it a full spring clean. :(

Don't matter if it's 2 days old... if you got grit in it you gotta get it out ;D
