What wound you ave done
« on: September 17, 2007, 01:28:44 pm »
While I was working at a local Factory last week the managing director approaced me and asked if I could just give his car interior a quick going over, I explained that I did not have treatment risk insurance for this type of work, but he insisted I gave it a go , so Ive just spent 2 hours this morning doing his car . My question is did I do the right thing by not charging him?
Bareing in mind there is potental for a lot more work

Did he pay you or was it a Freebee

If it was a freebee try to avoid being sucked in.  The right answer is if you were not insured you were taking a risk.

If he paid you consider if you want to do this type of work as part of your services and if answer is yes get insurance if not no.

If you are going to get loads of work out of this bloke then yes it was ok to do it for free.

But will you get loads of work, too many people promise but never deliver. :(

Reluctantly cleaned a 4x4 interior for a gardener today so hes coming round next week to take a load of clay away from my garden.

Never do free unless they are already a good customer.  The number of landlords who spin this line.
