I had a job today that had some bright orange stains on the carpet that the customer said were from Lucozade. Is there any way of removing these? The water ran clear when through the stains so it wasn't lifting anything from them but I didn't know what chemical to apply to it.

Red RX, wet terry towel and hot iron. If that don't work not much else will.

lucozade contains tanning, if its on wool you could be stuffed, do a burn test to find out what the fibre content is & has the custy put anything on it?  freshi

Lucozade staining is very difficult if not near impossible to remove.
Over the years I have cleaned loads of these stains and only ever been able to sucessfully remove one stain permanenly.
Lucozade ingredients: Carbonated water, Glucose Syrup (26%), Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Flavourings (including Caffeine), Preservatives (Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Bisulphite), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Colour (Sunset Yellow).

It does not contain any Tannins and the Caffeine % is miniscule.

The problem with the staining blongs to the Sunset yellow food dye/colouring that is used in the drink, that along with the preservatives in the drink usually set the stain in on contact.

I always tell my customers it is in for good as is usaually the case.

Got to agree, Paul you've managed one more than me, the other I struggle with is blackcurrant.

Had a job earlier in the week where a guest had been sick on the carpet after drinking copious amounts of lager and blackcurrant, they'd had a go at it with VANISH..........my chances.........nil!!!!

You always have a battle with any type of dye stains as they do what they are designed to do, recolour

Tizer's the same. Had one that was a day old and could'nt touch it.
