Previously Flooded Theatre

Guys

Spoke to a custy today who has been told by an engineer and someone from council that if  the carpet (a theatre's) is cleaned it will produce a bad smell due to a previous flood.

I have told him that there are a number of ways round this.

Dry clean (rotary)
Odour neutralisers during clean

What are other options and what is best option.

Told custy to get a meet with these people for me so we can discuss. Guess this for the restorastion boys.

Shaun? What do you think?

I actually think they are trying to pull a fast one on this guy but not sure why.

Pete

Rang Freshi but he's taken his CFR out for a quiet, candle lit dinner.

Pete,  the only reason I can see that would make it smell is if the restoration process from the previous clean was not carried out properly.
A normal clean should be sufficient especially with the aid of some blowers etc.
Need to find out more about the flooding and process used.

Obviously someone talking out their backside. Unless it was a recent flood and the carpet, underlay and floor are still damp I can't see any reason why you would have an odour problem any worse than what comes from a Wool carpet when wet.
A wet clean with a suitable deodouriser in the tank and maybe a post spray with the same should be adequate.
Or just bonnet clean it.

Thanks guys

As I thought, just wanted to make sure there wasn't something on the restoration side of things I did'nt know (not my field).

What about granular cleaning like host? I think Solutions make 1 with a disinfectant in it. To allay any fears I would ask if you could do a demo, choose the dirtiest bit and deodorize then come back in a day with owner, I'd probably do about 10sq metres to show willing. I would do this with HWE.
