A BIG THANKS
« on: August 09, 2007, 08:02:36 am »
This is a message to the LEGEND THAT IS Geoff Wrightson (GWrightson) For all the help and advice this guy has given me over the past year,

After the very first post I made on this forum for advice Geoff emailed me and offered to take me out cleaning with him, I have been out with him a few times now and have learnt so so much from him.

Yesterday I had my first problem carpet, A cream wool mix which came through black when I tried to extract on the stairs, I phoned Geoff and as always the guy (even though he was busy and had his missus nagging that she wanted to use the phone lol) was on hand to help, He rang me back when we got disconnected and took a fair few calls from me. He also emailed me to check all went well.

I now not only know how to rectify this problem thanks to his advice I'll know how to treat it and spot it next time, My first thought was s*** my first insurance claim as I just couldn't seem to sort it but Geoff was great handing out tips on what to do and also how to approach the customer (who was luckily a mate) about the problem.

So I guess what I'm trying to say Geoff is

THANKYOU

And thanks to everyone else who freely give out advice to us newbies on the board ;D

Common problem.

How youd fix it?

I find a thorough prevac of the nose with the cuff of the vac left to right a few times makes a big difference.

Yeah, I'll definatley vac more thorough next time, I was a bit complaicent as the carpet 'looked' clean.

Once they started going black I just went over them again which made them worse and thats when I phoned Geoff

I sprayed them with ms and towelled towelled towelled till no dirt was transfering to the towel but it still looked a little bit dirty so I phoned him again,

I then dried the top step using a hair dryer and it looked fine so hopefully when they all dry it'll be o.k. I'd have put my blower on it but I'd not taken it with me as I didn't think this job would need it, It was supposed to be a straight in and out.

I'm going back tomorrow to check it's ok. so fingers crossed

Andy
