Got a customer call back, I'm going out on monday,

apparently the sofa has dried and the edges of the cushion feel harder, I'm thinking it may be a starchy fire retardant wicking from the back?

Anyone got a better Idea and how to remedy it?

Any idea appricated as never seen this one before.
