anyone know anything about those huge trailers which can dry out houses in days rather than weeks, they pump massive amounts of hot air into the house.

how much they cost? & who has them?

Mike, there are 2 kinds. There are water out trailers which blow hot air into the property and there are AridAir and DryAir which heat Glycol which is then pumped through hoses not unlike your solution hose but bigger diameter. This is directed to a fan coil which is basically a metal box with an electric fan at the back which pushes air over the heat coils.
How they work is by rapidly heating air. As air can absorb 100% more moisture for every additional 10 degrees of temperature, this air is highly absorbant.
The hot air absorbs the moisture but also heats the walls and floors creating faster evaporation. The damp air is then exhausted with a vent fan at the top or opposite end of the building. This system can dry a building in 3-5 days as opposed to 3-6 weeks using conventional dehumidifiers.
They cost around £50,000 to purchase and 900-1200 per day to hire. They are primarily used to dry commercial premises where loss of earnings is of major concern to the insurance company. If they get a business trading in a short period they obviously gain massively on not having to pay out for lost income.
You do see them being used on domestic properties as well, usually drying 2 or 3 together.
My mate owns AridAir and is making trailers like theres no tomorrow. These are being snapped up by the big restoration companies as fast as he can make them. He's probably still in bed but I'll ring him later and see if its ok to put his phone number on here. Jason Lawal off here also has some but I imagine they are all in use at the moment.

john  there is also a demountable unit that ive seen, for the life of me cant rememeber where, works exactly the same,

dry air into property, damp air back out of property.

we looked at one of them last year, drawback was, that the unit must be mounted on LEVEL GROUND, the building we had was boundaried by gradient. NIGHTMARE.

we are using the corroventa kit right now, just a slimmed down version of the trailers. stand alone boxes, spaced around the properties.  we are doing two brand new apartments, got the concrete slab all tented, pumping air underneath.

corroventa, also do the trailer mounted kit aswell.

Hi Martin, the corroventa trailers are standard desiccants and although they have huge volumes of dry air, don't dry as fast as the heat trailers, I don't think so anyway. There stuff is great though, just bought another 2.
