I heard it last week from quite a relieable source , but of course could not post any thing with out it first been official.
yes apparently. these people doing the restoration work in Hull and E yorks have been looting whilst carrying out their duties.
talk about taking advanage of the already suffering people >:(

yes I do know who the culprits are , not individualy ,  but wont name , again for obvious reasons

I've had a brand new Tub vac taken by the contractors who stripped out my house (sopposedly ::) ) cost me £199, it was 'flood damaged' so was 'skipped' even though it was still in the plastic bag and could be seen to be totaly perfect.

I'm waiting to see if its on the inventry list of what was disposed of.

This is wrong, but maybee if the people get wind of the company involved  (im assuming its a big franchise) then the insurers may be forced to farm a but of work out to the independants.

don't want to bore you with all the details but a lot of people are making money out of the floods, a local caravan place has rented out  60 caravans @ £400 A WEEK!! he's looking at them been out for at least 6months.

I've had a bit of a dillema, one of my dogs has developed an ear infection, so the kennels won't care for him so they both have to come out, no hotels will take dogs so I will have to find an alternative.

the house 2 doors away has a 2 inch crack down the full side of the house, they think the house will be demolished :o

I could go on forever about the experience of floods!

Dene, unfortunately its never going to happen. I've dealt with twenty odd over the last few weeks, a drop in the ocean. Some of the Chem-Dry guys have over 300 on the go. The problem isn't the work on the ground but the paperwork and management statistics. Insurance companies are investment companies not house fixers. They need up to date information about cost of claims in order to draw down the correct amount of money from their investments. Too much and they lose interest, too little and they suffer extra charges when they have to draw down more.
This is why the big franchises have cleaned up, because they have the call centres and office staff to give them what they want.
You may pick up odd jobs from loss adjusters but never large scale work.

 hi john

i have a meeting with a loss adjuster this afternoon, they have our rates, and our paper wrks, and SLA, they are very keen to mve forward,

the good thing is, is we are meeting on a site that we are already working on, therefore they will see first hand what we can do.

fingers crossed.

local trades in both areas are up in arms, as the insurance companies are bringing in guys from further afield.

some househlders, have been told there first appointment with the contractor is in 2 or 3 weeks.

plasterers will be in short supply in a couple of months

regards

martin

Saw the looters on The Peter and Paul show, did some catch them on CCTV, or aVideo Camera.

Heard that rents in buy to lets are esculating.

Caravans looked good but 60 not very many.

Puzzled as to why Hull City Council did not have Insurance on schools.

Also did they not do a special Insurance scheme for tennants.

Although I have symphany for thiose not insured I would like to be sure they do not smoke or drink do drugs play bingo etc
