Just been to a Comprehensive School to do a quote, I think it will take upto 4 days to do.

Cleaning the carpets is easy it the amount of chewing gum to remove that will be the hard bit.

I was looking at charging a day rate of £500 so total would be around £2000.

Am i miles away on price as I would be very interested to no what you guys think.

Iv just measured one this morning 10,930 square foot

Got to get a price back to them tommorow, same as you dont know what to quote?

Im gona go in between 1-3k, i dont wanna go in to low and work for nothing, but then again i dont wanna loose it on price as they have got two other quotes.

If i do get it, it will be the first commercial job of any decent size iv actually got, iv priced 10-15 and i never get them

I can only assume its because of price, because iv given free demos, i show them before and afters photos, insurance, testimonials, leave them a nice quotation etc but never get them.

I started at about 25p a foot and have worked my way down to 14p a foot but they still dont book

I book 70-80% of my domestic quotes but no commercials, apart from a couple of pubs but thats only been ones i drink in and there only ever £100 jobs

You need to decide here, that could be a difference of £1999 !
I could understand you saying between 1 & 1.25K.
And your lower price is nearer to what it should be, no wonder you dont get much commercial.

Its a pig of a Job with all the gum but will give you a call if I get it.

It will be a portable Job though access is bad and it one time that a porty is the best thing for the job.

i clean loads of schools. daul wanding with a truckmount and picking up the out laying areas with a high powered porty. 4 of us working we will do 1500 sq meters a day. we don't offer gum removal with the clean as this is litter picking and they need to pay extra for that. that said, on the schools with very little gum we will take it off because we are nice. my price is per sq meter and we aim to get lots done quickly. my advice is work out how much is the lowest day rate you are willimg to work hard for try and guess how much you can do a day . then do the math to come up with a sq meter price. talk to the person who is going to sign it off before giving the quote.
