WARNING.

I had a phone call from a company called Customersearch.com or something yesterday. They told me they were getting hundreds of hits im my area every week and asked how much work I could take on

I let him waffle for a while, but to be honest couldnt even understand half of it. For £199 and £29 + VAT a month they build you a web site give you an 0845 number, and garantee you get work every week and some other crap about being top in ufindus and touch local and other searches

Then I twigged, every area in London he mentioned they needed someone for or customers were hitting in there hundreds were the areas I listed on the window cleaner directorys!!!

So Beware they have obiously scourced the net, done there homework a bit and are trying to con us fellow w/c........ he said they needed someone with a reach and wash in them areas and would need someone TODAY! 4pm on a friday, I laughed and put the phone down............. what a load of $@~#

I cant find there website anywere!

I had the same call about 10 mins before you Alex! I also told them I was not at all interested.

They obviously tried the best 1st then worked their way down the ladder!

I too had a call exactly like that yesterday. Difference being it was from a different company called find a cleaner . com

i have had loads of calls like this and they are all a waste of time i tell them i am not interested and hang up or they wont take no for a answer.

One said its guarenteed commercial work in my area.
I said you supply the work then they said yes we get you the customers and all you have to do is put a tender in , Its guarenteed.

I said i tell you what you actually get me the customer then i may take out your ad.
They put the phone down.

I had another more or less the same and on the same day and this time they said they get all the goverment contracts to tender for.
I said really as i can get these details anyway without taking out advertising.

I seen on here a quite a while ago a script on what to say to tele canvasers but never saved it and the answers where great if anyone know what post it is i would be greatfull if they could let us know

Its always the same deal, you pay first. Funny that. Now in the old days they could justify the fee because it was (allegedly) going into some directory of other which needed printing and distribution.

With a website they lose that  cost justification.

I know the taxi trade is inundated with these callers

I've had the government tender ad people as well a couple of times recently.  To sound more legit they even called themselves gov dot uk .  I don't doubt that they do put your ad on their own website but I don't suppose any government bodies take their suppliers from that site.
I soon got rid of them anyweay.  I just said that government only want to pay peanuts and I wouldn't be prepared to work for that kind of money.  They've no answer to that.

Say "You will have to send me a letter" they don't like that. They will tell you all sorts of rubbish over the phone but they won't put it in writing.
