The accountacy bill could run high if you are ever investigated so it might be a good idea to get insured against it.  Also, the bill incurred in a tax investigation is not even tax deductible.
However, if they are after £100 a year for this service, why not join the Federation of Small Businesses for a similar cost and get other stuff thrown in too.  One of the benefits of being a member is that they cover the costs of accountancy in an investigation (and the membership fee IS tax deductible so actually costs 30% less assuming basic rate payer).

If you phone the head office number on that page, they will get it sorted out for you.
I had a guy come round to show me the stuff and sign me up.  There was no hard sell or anything like that.  No need really I suppose as most people who invite them round have already decided to join.
I currently pay £100 per year.  The first year was a bit more though due to admin fee for setting it up.  It may have been an extra £20 but not certain now.
I get a lot of invites to talks etc (at £10 a pop usually with munchies thrown in) but I've not been an active member.  Occasionally an invite comes through that looks interesting so I reckon I will respond at some point.
Even though I've not used the facilities, it looks well worth joining.  You can use their logo too which may appear to give more credibility to the business.

You get business banking through the Co-Operative Bank.

You have to apply in the normal way but as a member of the FSB you are given preferential treatment.

I don't think it's for life.  If you let FSB membership lapse there would probably be a charge for banking.
