Hi John

I see where you are coming from but the use of initials is a way of life these days...love 'em or hate 'em

I think they are fine and if someone doesn't understand they can ask...we are such a helpful lot anyway

and a blast from the past......T.T.F.N  ;D

Hi Guys,

Why not have a list of abbreviations for reference purposes in the starting up  section.

When typing a post on marketing ,say , it is irritating to keep writing yellow pages for example when YP will suffice.

Some abbreviations become words in their own right , e.g UPVC.
People talk about UPVC windows , without knowing what it stands for.

Cheers,

Doug

I agree abbreviations like HWE & YP are fine, 95% of people know what this is, but APO, about 1% no what that is.

I ones heard of this gentleman who bought a car that supposedly had ABS (Advanced Braking System). On its next service he mentioned the ABS and was informed by the garage that it was not fitted with ABS.

He went back to the person who sold him the car in the first place to complain and was informed that it did have ABS.

Like Derek, I wasn't impressed with the options, but I voted nonetheless...

Pretty silly thread anyway.
