Before I spend £120 on a new motor for my Ashby's power brush I thought I would replace the little electric magnetic brushes as everything else looks OK.

Any idea what sort of place I could buy these brushes from.

Has anyone ever repaired such a Motor  looks quite simple and designed as if it is repairable, if I could buy the bits,

Have you tried Shoebridge if their still going Ian?

there are a couple of rewind places may see if they will help out but last time they were only interested in Big industrial motors.

Ian, have you tried some vacuum cleaner repair shops. They may be able to source them for you.

They used to have branches in Lynn, Wisbech and P'boro, I know they closed the Wisbech Branch but I'm sure the Lynn and P'boro branches were still there, they used to rewind small motors as well and had masses of bits in stock, I'll see if I can find a number for them.

Went to my local electric repair man first, They are fine on our machines if I source parts, but do not mess around fixing motors etc.

Going to try another.

Could take a trip to Woodbridge in Harlow.

Might try Ashbys last time I asked I only mentioned complete motor  but the thought occured to me in the bath that it might be possible to get the various components of the motor. Such as the back .

But ideally i just want two small electric brushes they should cost £2 in old money, when people fixed parts.

Try Altech, why dont you ring them first they are vey helpful.

I used to get brushes from them years ago for my Ashcombe Elite and their Power brush, I wouldnt have thought it would be a problem, those motors are pretty much the same.

Looks like you would be going past them on your way down to Harlow.
