DASERVICES

If anyone has todays The Mail On Sunday check out page 25 in the Financial Mail. The tax man is now claiming the tax on anyone who takes someone on as self employed as the are classed as employees. They have won a court case regarding this and now are going after firms to pay the tax for their self employed workers even though the workers have paid their own tax.

In the past, the Revenue has deducted any self-employed tax already paid by the person concerned. Now, it refuses to do so unless the person signs away the right to reclaim the prevoius tax they paid once the employer has paid its new tax bill.

Another dent in small businesses if they spent more time in catching out those who are working on the side they would gain more revenue than having a go at us.

Its very frightening that having changed their minds they have now got approval to go back years and you get the bill.
