What would you of done
« on: May 24, 2007, 05:54:06 pm »
I had a phone call from another window cleaner ( never met him )He asked me for my oppinion on WFP as he was going to get one . So we had a conversation about them , and I asked where abouts he worked. Its about 8 miles away from me . I told him there was another window cleaner in his area who uses a pole and could he not ask to go out with him and try it out .
He told me he had already contacted the other window cleaner ( comes on here from time to time ) and was told not to go to the expense of buying  a WFP system but to sell him the work.
What would you of done , would you of advised him or are you afraid of a bit of compertition

I would have given him advise, and have done so to a few cleaners in my area, we all need help from time to time, I would perhaps have even invited him to come and look at my system too.

Yep. me too. I often stop and chat to other local wfpers and we always help each other with advise on best poles, techniques etc. Afterall there is plenty of work for everyone in most parts of the UK.  It is better to have a good relationship with people in the same business than a bad relationship cos if it is bad it gets too competitive, people undercut each other to 'rob' their work thus undervaluing our work.

Eight miles away is not on your doorstep. Round here the window cleaners don't talk to each other. I have been cleaning the house next door and been blanked. I don't know why and I think its a shame.
Always help someone if they ask.
