« on: May 22, 2007, 08:08:58 pm »
hi,I am the better half of scrim shady and would like to share something with you all,We picked up a new customer a few months ago, scrim went round to qoute her house.£13,lovely job!when he went round to quote she wouldnt stop chatting to him so i thought she would be an ok customer! He booked her in for 2 oclock(i need to get the kids from school at 3!!)Needless to say i was in a bit of a rush. She then proceeded to tell me about a window i had missed after she had seen me put the wfp away >:(
Any way to cut a long story short, when scrim went to clean them next time she told him she didnt like my attitude and i seemed to be in a bit of a rush! But did scrim stick up for me?NO!Just wanted to share this with you all and wondered if anyone would do the same!! ???

If I was in Scrim's shoes, I would have stuck up for you right or wrong because I know which side my toast is buttered so to speak. Customers come and go like buses but hard working female window cleaning partners are rare and he should be lucky to have you helping him.
Losing a customer is like waiting for the next bus, another one will come along shortly!

He should of stuck up for you  ::).

A few years ago my partner & i tryed working together, never again she done my head in. Anyway he was well rude to her so he was dumped on the spot.

I'd give him some grief  ;), he needs to appriciate what he has.  ::)

Well, next time he comes near you just ask him what type of women he thinks you are & you dont have strange men touching you  ;).

I wouldn't want to be in his shoes  ;D

Some women don't like other women. I'd be the same as your hubby, she probably had the kids on her mind she gets them at three. When I'm at work the first priority is getting your windows done as agreed.etc.

Anyway all's well that ends well he kept the custy happy!

My wife doesn't help me with windows but we do work together and like you she's a grafter. Some people don't like me and much prefer her, then I have to take a back seat.

It's about time we had a woman on here who does some work.

Overall what are you like at canvassing or attracting new work, do you get all the other school mums?

People respect someone who is hard working. I think physicaly it probably is a lot for a woman, I hope he doesn't expect a full shift out of you. But you sound like a brilliant asset to the business.

Women are less threatening than men so I can see that you might be a good route in to some of the bigger accounts.

If I was in Scrim's shoes I personally might pass on some coffee offers but I would never stop you taking up the offer anytime you felt you needed a rest and a chat.
Not trying to be funny but women are the weaker sex and like to gossip more so insist on a few more breaks each day, (a good chance of picking up new work by the way).
If your husband respects all your hard work he should take time to remember you're a woman as well as his wife & mother of his children and cut you some slack instead of cracking the whip at work otherwise he may find himself going solo.
Obviously you love him very much otherwise you wouldn't help him out so much in this physically demanding job. The things you do for love, eh :)
