dog attack
« on: April 28, 2007, 04:51:47 pm »
Yesterday morning I dropped 300 flyers, got back home within 2 mins of getting back home the phone rings."hello my name is mrs xxxx just got a flyer through my letter box."thats pretty quick I thought !she then starts going on about how she as a mail box on her wall and I shouldn't have put it through her letter box as her dog as destroyed it , she then asks for compensation for her damaged mailbox. At this point I explained that I wasn't responsible for the damage and she wouldn't be geting a penny out of me.After she verbaly abused me abit more  I ended the call.
                      beware! :-X

Unlucky, Jeff. Should have told her to remove the "offending" letter box then she wouldnt have had a problem! Well done you for standing your ground.

She's completely and utterly in the wrong!

From a legal standpoint by having a letterbox she's inviting people to put stuff in there, be it letters, newspapers or leaflets.

If she doesn't want stuff put through her letterbox then she should have it removed/sealed up.

It was her dog that destroyed her letterbox...no one is to blame except her.

If she phones again maybe you should consider reporting her for harrassment/having an obviously dangerous dog..

After a leaflet drop ( a few years ago) I had a call from a chap saying that is wife was concerned about the "dodgy characters " that I was using to distribute my leaflets .

She felt sure that they were sussing out the properties to rob them !

For some reason, once I had explained that it was me ( the owner) and my brother who delivered the leaflets he put the phone down  :-[

Its like the training course that are held by the NCCA etc, the people who go look like part of the local job seekers club, or worse!. All dressed in jeans and filty trainers.

Lets face it most carpet cleaners are tenement living, penny less, Pit Bull called 'Tyson' owning, satellite TV, corner leather sofa, football and beer loving, huge TV in small lounge people who appear on the Jeremy Kyle show from time to time.

Truck drivers with wands, that's what we are.  ;D
