went to a customers tonight she has 2 x2 seaters in cream made of 100% polyester,said on the label they recomend   service master or scotchcare.
They are marks and spark make.
They dont even look dirty I told her to wash the covers at a low heat in the washer and I would do the carcas,s for her ,she phoned up and wants me to do all of them both.
As they are only lightly soiled which method would you all recomend

Hi Neil

Presuming you've done your inspection and all the tests, vac, mist on your favourite microsplitting solution, brush/agitate, or maybe with a towel, and light rinse. Towel dry and turbo. A variation which will have Derek cringing in his deck shoes is, if around the back and sides the towel stays clean, don't rinse. If  detergents are used, I would normally acid rinse everywhere.

As usual a common sense approach to hwe, but should be a reasonably straight forward fabric to clean.

Neil,

One of the fundamentals of suite cleaning is to do the same to all of the suite.

If your customer washes her covers in standard washing powder , they will end up a different shade to rest of suite because the powders contain bleaches.

Remember the old washes whiter ads , well that was because they contained bleach.

I would lightly HWE.

Though I have cleaned a few M&S suit never come a cross a label which recommends SM or SC to clean it!

A really good vacuum light mist with Solutions MS light agitation and a quick rinse with water Job Done

Incidently best bit of kit I have added for a very long time for upholstery cleaning is my Minitex mini roto.

I use this all the time for agitating the solution in and working on arms and back cushion problem areas.Takes all the hard work out of agitation leaves the furniture looking great before rinsing.

Also can help with drying off after rinsing,with air movers going use the mini roto with clean pads and this speeds drying no end.

I actually, and I didn't think I would ever hear myself saying this, quite enjoy upholstery cleaning using this method :

Superb bit of kit.

Its a bonnet pad on a studdy plate.
