Help
« on: March 14, 2007, 09:27:09 am »
I have posted on here before but i'm stuck as to deciding on which truckmount and was wondering if anyone could help.

I have decided on either a spitfire 3.1 or a promount 15 or 18. Having read a post about woodbridge's service, i'm not sure. I have had good dealing with hydramaster and have found them very helpful and always a joy to deal with. The spitfire is slightly more expensive but i'm willing to pay a bit more for the service you get. If anyone uses the spitfire or promount could i have your opinions.
Thanks

I have the older model the Spitfire 4, great machine, taking down Cornwall next week for a servicing at Hydramaster i cannot comment on woodbridge but Hydramaster have helped me out over the phone on a few occasoins, John and his team bend over backwards to help you out and i cannot remember any posts slagging them off, there are of courase other suppliers, John Kelly sells a unique TM type product, Nick sells the Scorpian with can rival a Tm on Power, i think when you are making such a large purchase its worth looking at all the possibilities.  Why not ask on the TM'rs forum after all everyone on there uses a TM, or message Dave Ingram hes an authority on the subject from what ive seen on here and he's good to talk to on the phone.

I have a Spitfire. Very pleased with the machine, the quality of the installation and the service/support from Hydramaster.

Firstly its a 3.2 & not a 3.1.
The spitfire 3.2 is commonly rearded as being the most reliable TM made, becasuse of its rugged simplicity etc.
It will out perform any portable.

and Glynn knows his Truck Mounts!

i have a Hydramaster 4.0 bought second hand 8 months ago, and its been busy since, to date not one problem with it.

Hydramaster got a very good reputation on service.

Its the only TM ive had so i cant comment on others.

I haven't got one myself (Yet), but I've been looking. Both Hydramaster and the Spitfire have been recommended to me many times over.

3.2 - had one for about 7 yrs , one of 5 or six t/ms i have owned

reliability and simple mechanics (which I am definitely not ) -  i still miss mine - bloody fantastic !!!!

p.s other machines might produce better heat and vac , but these will still be going in years to come.

Took mine down there last week for a service.

Really helpful team, couldnt fault them at all, very professional and friendly in every way.I cant believe the difference the service has made to it, not looking forward to the bill though.

Only trouble is its so far away. Actually theyve got a flat upstairs with a couple of beds, shower tv etc so if you drive down overnight you can crash out until the machine is fixed.

Havent got those in Royston or Harlow.

Why dont you ask for a part ex model, they normally have a couple knocking about I believe. Look on their website.
