WFP - Runs from extractor fans

I have spent today cleaning a block of flats - twice, as is its the first with a WFP.

They were quite spotty after the first clean, but much better after the 2nd, glass only clean.

The problem is that most of the flats have extractor fans in the middle of the kitchen window that are causing big runs, even after the 2nd clean. What can I do??

You have to try and avoid wetting the extractor fan, don't wash to close to it, if it's ground floor then trad clean that pane, or tidy it up with your hand tools after you've WFPeed it.
If it is first floor and above either ignore that pane altogether or just get as close as you can.
With WFP you are not going to get a greasy extractor fan and the pane of glass it sits in up to a very high standard, if it is higher than ground floor simply explain to your customer that you won't be able to do a top job because of the extractor fan...it's only one pane of glass after all...

extractor fans are very difficult to clean around .so much so that i would either ladder or not bother at all .

Extractor fans are often full of greasy filth. The glass around them is often greasy as well if its a kitchen fan where they do a lot of frying. Do not go near them with with your best brush. Pure water shifts just about everything EXCEPT grease and if you get it on your brush you will be spreading it around the rest of the  windows.

k, thanks for the suggestions guys.

biscute, ill post some pics and stuff of my system when i get time. atm, i have a 250ltr tank laid in my car :( only fill it with about 180ltrs (same as 2 guys sat in the back i guess). WIll be getting a trailer asap.
[edit] it is wearing a 2 seatbelts ;)

I think im gonna go back in the morning and wipe a scrim around all the extractors to get rid of the runs, only about 8 of them. In the future, Ill only wfp the bottom half of the pane, then at the end just scrim around the extractors.
