What A frame would you buy?
« on: February 15, 2007, 11:13:43 pm »
I must have a new "A" frame ladder, what type do you think is best, what should I buy, what size, and who supplies the best, from where?

Thanks
Pj

Hi Pj

Do you mean an extendable one or one for general and ground floor work?

I use an 8ft A frame for ground floor work and an 11' 6" which extends to 19" for 1st floor windows.

The cheapest and OK ladder supplier I've found is Midland ladders. They seem straight forwards and friendly on the phone and they also say if you not happy with the ladder when it's  delivered, then refuse to accept it.

As for aliminium versus wood, I can't see what difference it makes. I've used both. Both are ok except that ali is lighter. Wood is harder on your hands, and heavier, but warmer to the touch in winter.

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I'd agree with Ross on this one, don't know about best buys though :-\ I always got mine from a place called...I think! ....Newent Ladders & Fencing, no good to you though as they are not (or at least were not the last time I used them) Mail order, although they do have a website...or did!

LFI Ladder & Fencing Industries (Newent) Ltd

Mmm, yep, as you see they do still have a website, and they do have a link that will enable you to download there  Full Product Brochure.

They are a very good company...maybe they do mail order...I don't know.
