I used a company called Design Dock. www.designdock.co.uk

Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

hi skywalker

remember these guys are web designers and NOT marketers.

My advise is learn it yourself. you will be in a more powerful position to update and not have to pay somone every time you need to change things. the dummy guides are quite good as a starting point.

with regards search engine thats easy, pick the words that you think prospects will use to find a carpet cleaner in your town and use them in the page. search engine will always give prospects the relvent page first, so useing these key words in the page helps.

number one for top position is you url or web adress. i have just today got www.carpet-upholstery-cleaner.com how strange is that you would have thought that it would have gone years ago!

dont use frames in the page as search engines dont see any text within them. so when placing you in search results lower on the results page of the engine.

photos are always great but again search engines dont take them into account, so lots of text with them.

dont expect intstant results, changes made on a page today will take months to filter thought to the search engine.

also remember its all about benifits to the customer not about features of your equipment. in other words whats in it for them and what make you differant to any other carpet cleaner(ISP)?

Hi Ian.
Most of what you say is true, but when you say, "that with regards search engine that's easy"
yeah, but there's only one engine that matters and that's Google and it sure is hell ain't easy nowadays to get top position. I have got top position and have done it for a few guys that come on here.
Takes a fair bit work and lots of patience.
You can actually make the images talk to the engines.
Respect to you also.
Cheers.

Just did a search for your site and I see you have 5th position in the big G for "carpet cleaning in Billericay". Well done
How long did it take for them to index you?
