Same Ninja from a previous post....i.e 7 months old and had to have a new pump already, under warranty. Cos i wouldnt take their offer of a service, I've lost the rest of my warranty ( 6 months approx).
Anyway. I rarely use the in-line heater but since machine went back for a new pump I'm having probs with it. The in line heater will only heat up water when I'm using upholstery tool. As soon as I change to my Power Scrubba the water goes cold. The Scrubba obviously pushes out more water and for some reason the heater isnt coping with this....well thats my theory. Any ideas chaps

I agree, the heater can't handle the amount of flow with the scrubba, how many jets does it have 3 ?

filling the water tank with hot water will help.

If you wait does the water eventually kick through hot.

I presume you have a recirculating one.

As i use the scrubba the water just gets colder and colder until I have to stop, put upholstery tool on and spray out into a bucket until it warms up. Then put Scrubba back on. Got three jets on Scrubba. Everything was working ok until I had the new pump fitted.

After calling Ashbys I've found out that the water cant be stone cold. So I'm wrong to think that an in line heater will rescue you when you turn up at a job with stone cold water? I thought the in line heater was exactly for that purpose.

I think you will find that most in line heaters are rated at 2000 w or less. I have one that is rated at 1400 w. It wont cope with cold water through a twin jet floor wand.
If you get a connector to go in the end of you hose and put an old fairly big jet in it, when you fill with cold water put the jet to return to the fresh tank and put the pump and heater on. This will warm the tank while prepping sufficiently to give hot water when you want it. It takes about 10-15 mins.
