My day in pics
« on: January 25, 2007, 08:46:56 pm »
Started off at 11 this morning and rattled off a detached bungalow way out in the sticks.

The went up to a rather big house at 12 to do the insides only. You can only do this house between the hours of 12pm and 4pm on a thursday as this is when the family are out and the cleaners come in.

It was quite handy as one of the cleaners went round the whole house and cleared the sills for me.

Got done with half an hour to spare so started on the outside.

How was everyone elses day? Good day/bad day? Any pics?

Matthew

OK the comments have started already! ::) "i think i could have it done in about 30 minutes".  There is another side I never took pics of as the battery went flat and it was full of tiny panes >:(

Looking at the pics myself the windows do look small but a picture is really deceiving.

Those look like really nice jobs! Is that last house a new build or a refurbishment? Looks like its gonna be a marathon job! Mind you, with WFP it should fly by  :P Your profile says you're in the highlands, do you have to travel far between work?

It's a new build made to look old. And what a job they have done!!!!
All the chimney stacks weigh 156 tones in total. They have a massive cinema which will seat 32 people. All the stone was bought from nairn (highlands) Then was sent down by lorry to the south of England to get cut. They then numbered it, packed it & sent it back up. Went together like a jigsaw puzzle.

The had a special crane come over from Germany for 6 months :o (How much would that cost?)
Silk wall paper, marble work tops and real wood flooring. The list goes on.

Never met the owner :o

Most of my accounts are in towns and villages so I don't travel that much. I have a few in the sticks but not too many ;)

All I can say is WOW.... they've done an amazing job! That place looks 200 years old. The lengths some people will go to make something look antique!   :o  Are they wooden frames too?

I would soooooo love to have a cinema in my house....  8)

Went back to the white lodge house today to finish off the outside.

My facelift pole is only 19ft and was far too short for some windows.  :-\

Luckily I had a number 4 section of a unger pole which I slipped on the end of the pole. Worked a treat ;)
