Protection on a new carpet
« on: January 28, 2007, 07:45:38 pm »
Hi

I have been asked to protect a brand new carpet.
Of course, the carpet will not have been cleaned and will therefore be dry before treatment.

The concentrate I am using states that the area should be wet or be treated with a 'rinse' beforehand.

What kind of price should I be charging for this as I will not be getting paid for the clean and the time to protect will be longer than normal (having to rinse the carpet prior to treatment)?

Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Andy

Some protectors require application onto a damp ( sprayed with water) carpet, others require pre spraying with an acid rinse product. this is no problem. All protectors work out about the same price per sq/m cost , so it depends what you want for doing it. Things to take into account are -
                  area to protect ie sq/m
                  is there furniture on it
normal costs of getting to the job
So I would say between £2 - £ 3 sq/m
