I've got the product, how do i sell it?
« on: December 28, 2006, 08:09:05 pm »
I was just wondering what kind of marketing/advertising you guys have found most effective?
At the moment my business is mainly window cleaning... but I'd like to expand the long neglected carpet cleaning side of the company.
I have the equipment (Alltec extractor & Accesories), and basic training,... and i could just sit back and let it grow naturally,.. but bad weather and an increasing dislike of ladder work is encouraging me to make the move a bit faster!
At the moment i'm doing a leaflet drop, I've just got signwriting on the 2 vans, and i'm considering an ad in the local paper (It's expensive!!!)
What works best???

Reading your post you ask and then done! Cart before the horse not saying it’s wrong, :o why not try your existing customer database, ;D word of advice make sure you do a blinding job on the windows and frames, ;D have yet to hear good reports from customers on window cleaners (kitchen sink talk ;D) ladders don’t like me is there an alternative method. 8)

Agree with Len, your most valuable asset is your customer base and you can target them at almost no cost.

All you are doing, is adding additional services to an existing business and assuming you have a good reputation, you will soon get work, as you get confident and competent, start to ask for referrals.
