Hi, what do you all think of the new Vanish Foam advert, anyone know its composition and will it make our machines foam up from the residue.

I p myself everytime i see it.  Think ill just dump my truckmount and invest in a couple of bottles of vanish a soft brush and an henry that all there is to it.

I think its great for business becuase loads of customer of mine say they have used it, so if its so great why are they calling me?, becuase it doesnt live up to the promises and is used by untrained carpet cleaners thats why.

Long live Vanish it creates awareness and interest in getting carpet cleaned then fails miserably which then triggers customer to contact me.

Unless they've changed to a chrytalising foam, the black blobs will continue to get c/c's work

Even if its encapsulation theres still no spotter for difficult stains, no extraction, no training for customer its a complete rip off!

But it keeps me busy so ill let them pay for the advertising.

the amount of damage i have seen is amazing from spot carpet cleaners bought from supermarkets. it ranges from bad products that bleach the carpet , to badly applied where the carpet has been damaged by agitation. Its so frustrating as it ruins the look of a really good job done, but at the same time gives me a good side line selling spotters

I Remember about a year ago, one of my customers using these products to treat some stains. She ended up with all these permenant yellow circles on her large beige lounge carpet. Think she ended up replacing the whole carpet in the end.

Did a spot clean for a retailer a couple of days ago. She had bought a very very expensive carpet for her massive cottage. She got a few marks (7 or 8 in all) on it by whatever - and I had to remove them. The marks had gone grey (dirt) and I instincticely asked her if she had tried to remove them herself, and if a cleaning agent had been used (you know when they have right :D). She admitted to using a cleaner, then I said to her I do hope it wasnt Vanish as it may have taken colour out of the areas she had cleaned - although not obvious at the moment.

She produced a big spary bottle of Vanish ::) I cleaned the marks - no more grey, but guess what - yep, colour loss. Carpet ruined. I asked her what was the best place for the Vanish bottle - she said 'the bin'? I said yep! Got some other marks off straight away on the stairs - with the same very expensive carpet. Got a lovely job out of it to go back in Jan and clean all her other carpets  ;D ;D

Long live Vanish, we'll have nothing to scare them with otherwise!

Just cleaned one myself this morning 9.30. Hallway. Customers had used Vanish Powershot, left bright white circles on there beige carpet. Likewise I explained to them nothing I can do as marks will be permanent, I managed to remove all black dots that vanish couldnt, they were satisfied with this. They threw  remainder of Powershot away. Same thing has happened to many of my customers.
