When I worked for screwfix in there shop, we used to get bad batches of them, we had one guy bring 6 sets back, until someone had the bright idea to go through them all and 20 set we had, were all cross threaded and we found one good set,
If I was you I would send them back with a covering letter asking them to test them before they resend you a new set.

One of mine cross threaded and I think it was because I'd tightened them at an angle when a rung was in the way didnt have any problems with the other one and they were from Wicks.

I use a Mont Blanc ladder system, took 20 min to install it and now takes about 20 seconds to take ladders off and on,its a bar system that locks the ladders in place using a vertical clamp

I started looking for another one this morning but they seem to be different to the ones Im using,(I bought mine off a Guy in N.Ireland off ebay)Ive had them about 8 months and nobodys said anything about them before and twice today whilst stuck in traffic people have knocked on the window and asked how they work and where I got them from, then I come on here and see this thread....  ???
now thats scary ;D ;D
I will do a search and when/if I find I will place a link

Use cam buckle straps a lot quicker than clamps. Halfords sellthem, the thule ones last longest.
