Here Is the letter I handed out to my customers when I was In the process of switching over to wfp. I have seen other letters that others have used but I think there too complicated and hi-tech for some people to understand. Who wants to know about ro set ups, ressin, vessels, poles, brushes ect?

So here Is my letter! I hope some of you can use It or maybe make some changes to better It.

Customer Notice

The traditional window cleaning technique has been in force for many years and has proved to be very successful.
Technology has moved forward and a new system has now proved to be better, leaving your windows cleaner for longer.

This new system now (as recommended by the National Federation of window cleaners and by British health and safety) uses only 100% pure filtrated water.

This new system is much better, as it removes all the grime and old detergents from the corners of the window frames (as was left by the old traditional technique) resulting in a much better clean.

Because the new system removes all the detergent deposits of old, It Is not entirely successful until all this grime Is removed. This usually takes around two to three monthly cleans (depending on the type of window frames), as some noticeable spots may still be visible after cleaning.

You may notice that your windows will now be left wet, but will dry to a spotless finish (after all previous detergent residue is finally removed)

I trust that you bear with me (as I move with the times) with this Initial “slight inconvenience” and reap the benefits of the long-term “cleaner windows”

If you have any queries regarding this technique then please do not hesitate to contact me.

this is mine......
The water fed pole -
for safe high level window cleaning
As water percolates through the ground it invariably dissolves some minerals, and it is these minerals that we find on our windows and our cars after we washed with tap water these come in the form of white streaks and spots etc. after the water has evaporated.

As window cleaners we usually remove the water with a squeegee
In the UK, the water fed pole industry has developed along more ambitious lines with varying degrees of water treatment technology linked with mobile water tank systems. This has enabled window cleaners to take pure water with them.
The importance of safety has become of paramount concern to anyone associated with the window cleaning industry. Insurance, health and safety, plus facility purchasing are just a few of the many business sectors where rules and regulations have boosted interest in the use of poles.
Legislation being brought in from Europe will limit the use of ladders as temporary workstations. The law now states that ladders can only be used when all viable alternatives have been considered, and now water fed pole systems are seen as a safer viable alternative. If we can do the job to a high standard whilst standing on the ground this is obviously preferable for not only ourselves but also all our customers. Additionally we have been forced to pay an increasingly higher public liability insurance premium, which is becoming unaffordable for the use of ladders.

The major advantage of the “Water-fed pole” is that only 100% pure filtered water is used, eliminating the need for detergents and chemicals. As your windows will be brushed clean almost unavoidably frames will be cleaned at the same time. Please note, this process involves brushing the windows clean then rinsed off with pure water. As such they will be left wet and will need time to dry naturally.

Your  upstairs windows have been cleaned today using a method, which will soon be the industry standard. As a company wanting to be at the forefront of our industry, we have decided to invest in this technology which involves the use of telescopic poles and 100% pure water, which we filter through deionization vessels.

We are using this technology for a number of reasons.

Health and safety
Legislation being brought in from Europe will limit the use of ladders as temporary workstations. The law now states that ladders can only be used when all viable alternatives have been considered, and now water fed pole systems are seen as a safer viable alternative and I don’t want to be held liable to prosecution for accidents to staff and customers. Accidents do happen as I have fell off the ladder a couple of times myself. If we can do the job to a high standard whilst standing on the ground so much the better. Also we have been forced to pay an increasingly higher public liability insurance premium, which is becoming unaffordable for the use of ladders.

Better cleaning results
The major advantage of the “Water-fed pole” is that only 100% pure filtered water is used, eliminating the need for detergents and chemicals. As your windows will be brushed clean almost unavoidably your frames will be cleaned at the same time. A word of warning this process involves brushing your windows clean then rinsed off with pure water. As such they will be left wet and will need time to dry naturally. This may be a bit disconcerting at first, as obviously this is not what our customers are used to. Please note that over the space of two or three visits the process will `leach` all deposits from around the frames, resulting in an improved finish each time, until ultimately the finish will be equally as good as the traditional method. Please be patient if the initial visit is not perfect, as we have been forewarned by our suppliers that two or three visits can be necessary for maximum effect.
We can now also clean all aspects of your property.
Frames, Conservatory Roofs, UPVC, Paneling, Canopies, Guttering, Fascias, Garage Doors etc.
I hope this has covered everything, and have explained the increased benefits. Our aim is to continue to give a high level of service. Please feel free to phone or discuss any part of the above or indeed any other aspect of our service. If you have any concerns about this new way of cleaning your windows please let me know and we will endeavor to alleviate your concerns.
Yours Thankfully,
Mark Woodliff
