hi tosh,

a few weeks ago i posted a question about waste water produced from the ro unit as i have a drainage problem where i need to site my tank.

tosh, i think you mentioned that you had a similar problem. do you know if the water being rejected as waste has enough pressure to send it about 10 metres into a drain at the rear of my house. it's a flat run to the drain, farily straight.

any help would much appreciated guys.

What is the ground made off that your tank is sat on? mine is concrete cause its in the garage but outside the garage is tarmac, i drilled down between the two and poked about 10 inch's of pipe down there problem solved.

thats alright till your house starts to subside due to excess water round the foundations

Yes, I run about six meters of hose (I think it's called tricoflex - it fits onto a RO waste pipe no problem) and I run it from the rear of the house to the side where there's a drain from a downpipe.

10 meters should be no problem.  You probably could use some normal hose and a wadge of 'black nasty' gaffer tape to connect the waste pipe to the hose.

if you keep the pipe THIN micro pipe -- the 6 mm stuff

a. it looks better and can be cable clipped to the wall / fence

b. i belive some1 said its better as it will flow for futher distace
