I've been thinking of starting to clean the inside windows of peoples houses.

Any tips etc

Have only wfp experience

Do any of you just use pure water for insides

living and working in germany at the moment where 99% is inside and outside work , the beauty of it here is that most windows open inwards so you can clean both sides without a ladder

Almost all of our work in the US is in and out,sometimes the insides are easier sometimes not,be prepared for hundreds of little whatchamacallits on window cills etc or have the custy remove them per your contract just make sure that they know to have them removed before you come inside as otherwise you will be standing around waiting for them
 Also insides require appointments which you will be obligated to keep
If you are just wfp and have never squeegeed then a lot of practice befotre you do a customer because no matter how good you are with a wfp on the exterior you will now have to work with the customer watching you closely and you dont want to lose customers that think if you are doing a poor job inside maybe you are also doing a poor job outside
All in all the interior price should be about the same as the outside but situations vary greatly

My advise is to practice on your own windows first.

Also tell the customer the truth, but you will do a good job for them.

traditional only inside, and charge them a bit more than double as it always takes more than double the time.

well worth doing, nice and warm and always get a cuppa for your trouble.

if it's a £15 outside i charge £40 for the in and out. remember you are getting every piece of glass as clean as anyone can get it, and a hell of a lot cleaner than they would be able to do themselves

i have heard of people who only charge the same amount to clean the outsides as the insides.(i.e. a house worth £10 woud be £20 for in and out),  butyou really need to be charging more than that. Lets face it, people hate cleaning windows, so charge for the inconvenience.

Some people wear over shoes to make sure they dont dirty the carpets, but i just take my shoes off whenever entering a house, as it shows curtisy, and that you make sure you dirty things, afterall we are cleaners.

As Pat said, you really need to be handy with a squeegee, otherwise they will think that they can do just as good a job themselves!

I always put a scim below the glass to, because when that dirty water runs off the glass the last thing you want is for it to stain someones clean magnolia walls!

..... i  forgot to add, i agree with what warren flynn said, You need to be charging at least double for the insides alone. I love cleaning insides, nice moneymakers!

if the outside is 10 quid

the inside it 20 quid

double the price as you have to be more carefull with water flicking everywhere

i allways add 5 quid on the price aswell, this is "chat and coffee time" as they allways have a chat and then make you a coffee

its a little like my rich tax, except its across the board rich or poor, they all get the coffee tax

If you apply pure water to the insides and squgee straight down could that work obviously with towels underneath.

When i first started wfp last year and was still nervous i squgeed outside by going straight down worked ok.

I use pure water in a spray bottle.

Depend how big the window is i will usually use a huck towel to clean and scrim to buff up. If the window is fairly big i will use a squeegie.

I normally charge 1.5 times the amount for an outside clean depending how dirty they are.

So if i charge £10 for the outside i will charge £25 for inside and out.
