Which van??
« on: November 23, 2006, 09:06:45 pm »
Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a Peugeot Expert to carry a 400 litre WFP tank. Would you go for the 1.9 litre diesel or 2 litre HDI diesel, any experience, any advice??

Cheers,

Jason

I think the 2.0HDI is a great engine. Common rail too! Should go forever.

Word of warning guys  if the mvw of your van is over 2000kg then speed limits apply:- Expert/scudo/despatch is 2300kg

Motorway 70
Dual Carriageway 60
National speed limit roads 50

My mate got done for 60 on a 60 road when his limit was 50 if you get my meaning.

It's a game of three halves!

The 2.0HDI has a larger payload capacity - 900kg.  The 1.9D payload is 815kg.

There should be some good deals around, as the new model is due to be released in Feb 2007.

My advice wait for the new model if buying new.Its payload will be between 1000kg and 1200 kg with more space inside.

If you are going to buy now ABS brakes are not fitted as standard on the 1.9D engine. They are a must in my opinion, they could save your life and make you van far safer,That alone is more important then any speed you will gain with the Hdi engine. But do you want to be flying around that fast with a full load on.

If you are only putting a 400ltr tank have you considerd the Doblo van, The 1.3D multijet engine is an absoulte cracker. Take one for a test drive you will like it.
