next time a customer does the dirt on you if they have a water feature they will usually only turn it on to impress the visitors or something so just load it up with fairy when its turned off, when its turned back on "white christmas

Believe it or not, I've done that. Bubble bath works better, is longer lasting and is harder to get rid of.

As for getting dumped by customers, whinges and moans about what THEY expect and all that, I never see any customer as permanent.

Every week I'm always on the look out for new business and sometimes we overload ourselves but from experience and statistics I know that we will loose 1 in every 115 customers each month for various reasons.

If you think about it, it's the same with almost every company from the very small the the gigantic. That's why those that can afford to, advertise, have salesmen, etc etc.

Every week I still leaflet and every month I still go round shops, offices, factories and so on, for new business. By doing that, the ones we lose don't matter.

It's just a statistics game and I see it as just that.

Pylofm,

It is too bad that some people are dishonest.  As business owners we have to show the utmost in integrity and good taste.

No matter what. Even when we are ripped off by some slime ball that lied to our faces.   If you do something to seek revenge like throw eggs, put fairy in the waterfall, etc, then you lower yourself to their level.

I know it is real tempting to get even, but a customer that lies and is a jerk will get paid back in more ways than you can imagine because that is how they live their lives. You are
not the first person they have lied to nor will you be the last.

I would not want to do business with a dishonest person. I have been ripped off a few times in 25 years but I am glad I did not respond to my inner desires of ways to get even.

Forget it; you will get lots of customers in the future; keep up the integrity. You know that you did what was right. That is the most important of all.

Hugs,

An ex phoned up yesterday and was all cheery and friendly "Hi Davie. You do my neighbour's, and used to do my windows, but I was having work done and it's finished now, when could you restart? Was it £6 or £5 I used to pay?""

We agreed on next Thursday, as we do the shops just round from her every week and would then put her back in the schedule along with her neighbour.

I knew it had been a while, but looked back and it was January 2005 when she stopped us. The reason was that she had to pay three cleans, at £8! cos she'd been out for the past two times. Now, the reason she stopped was because she had to pay £24 in a oner, she hasn't had the builders in for the best part of two years, and she really wants us to restart because her windows were egged over halloween!

Guess who forgot to ask for her phone number, forgot to try 1471 before the next call came in, and won't be bothering to visit next week ?

TG - that's not "Revenge is a dish best eaten cold" - I just seem to have a bad short term memory these days.   :-*

I think that I will try to think of customers as customers and not family if you get my meaning...

Cheers
