How long does your pole last
« on: November 20, 2006, 11:10:43 pm »
I bought an 18' gardiner pole in may and in the last 3 weeks it keeps on slipping.
I've tightened it as much as i can now but still slips.

I've ordered a new pole only, do you guys buy the clamps only or just replace the pole.

I only use this 1 pole, how long do your poles last on average?

My longest lasting pole was 3 years and if maintained theres no reason why all pole shouldn't last this long.

If your pole is really bad and all the clamps are as tight as they can be then i would suggest a coat of gel coat. You can get it from any where that sells fibreglass and you just paint it on. Its like hair gel when you put it on but drys to a very hard smooth finish - just like a new pole really.
