WORK RAIN- HOME STOPS.
« on: October 27, 2006, 02:02:23 pm »
Its so frustrating.. halfway through a first clean it bangs it down.... large detached with conservotary

i sit in the van wait for it to stop,

it doesnt!

go home have a coffee... rain stops !

go back to the house to finish.

rain starts again!..

sit in the van.. it stops

put ladders up.. on decking, now very wet... ladder slips,
cant do it.!

what an hour!

The joys of british weather eh. ::)

Wet decking is lethal.  Don't do it, not even with a Rojak or an old mat or something put under your ladder; no matter how desperate you might be for work.

I won't even let Wor Lass use A Frames on the stuff.

Use your pole.

Ive had many days like that ! but equally the forecast for much of the last 2 weeks has been rain ( and its certainly looked like it ) so ive pretty much been working as if each house could be my last for the day , the ONLY rain ive had was on sunday !
( so the kids got me to go indoor skiing / tobogonning )  ;)

I love it when you just arrive at your first account of the day and as soon as you get set up, it starts thumping down with rain.

It's just like someones having a joke with you.

It really makes me larf! >:(

your right about bloody wet decking tosh.  today i was useing a small ladder  so i could reach a window above a long extenstion, im wfp but cant reach window from the ground  ( think maybe i should dump jobs like this) when the next thing i know ladder goes from under me and im on the floor. decking was like walking on bloody ice.

im lucky only a few bumps and small cut, but it shook me up. from now on wet decking  and a ladder is a no no.

I use a Ladder Mat on wet decking, the little nobbles dig in to the grooves and its held still. only problem is walking along the damn decking in the first place!

Half way through a house and it starts lashing it down. Get it finnished.

We where doing a row of about 10 terrace houses this morning, I looked at the clouds and thought We wont finnish these in the dry, So the waterproof jacket was donned.

Snug as bug in a rug. My son was like a drowned rat.

Finnished the row and went home. Signed for his new van this afternoon. The salesman as got a bum deal.
