Employee Liabilty Insurance
« on: September 21, 2006, 06:28:38 pm »
If you would like these rates please email me with your renewal date:

EL £135 per employee £10 mill plus 5% tax

PL £60 per employee £1mill plus 5% tax
PL £75 per employee £2mill plus 5% tax
PL £100 per employee £5mill plus 5% tax

You will have to join an "association" with an annual fee of £65
Only wfp users can join as claims relating to working at height are excluded - hence the premium

what benefits do you get from the association other than cheaper pl liability, as the quotes i am getting work out cheaper for me for 1 mil cover, than the cost of your quote pluss association costs.
The quotes i am getting also cover ladder work which most of us require even having wfp you still need them on occasions.
Who are the association are they just for wfp users or do they represent other trades.

David, I can,t believe that not one wfp'er does not use a ladder at one time or another.
I have wfp but still have to use a ladder on some jobs.
Does this mean you cannot get the above insurance.
100% wfp don,t believe it.
Are there any on this forum that does not use a ladder ever???
I am looking for new insurance for next year.
Thanks Robbie

David

Is your association a not for profit organisation ?

Do you have a committee ?

Can you tell us a little bit about the NAWC , what it stands for etc ?

Thanks

David thats really cheap.

But what does that include.

Does it cover the item being worked on (All Risk)
How high can you work
Can you use ladders for access ie flat roofs if so are you covered to work off a flat roof

Its the Employee liability thats the big deal here.
The nawc is not a trade association as I looked into that and theres lots of bureaucracy involved, which means the members have to pay more.
The nawc is a business (hence nawc.biz) in the same way that my window cleaning round is a business.
The cost of joining is set low to reflect my low costs and the benefits of joining are real see the website http://www.nawc.biz
I'm afraid it's for wfp only as that's low risk so low EL premiums

Robbie
We both know you can break an ankle just coming off the bottom rung of a pointer
Ladders = risks = high premiums.
Its all about making a choice. You can use a ladder and take a risk (Ok its a small one but still a risk) or use an extension pole or a wfp and be safe.
I haven't met a single customer yet who insists I clean every window no matter how risky, especially when I explain the insurance aspect.
Even doing insides I use extension pole.
Paul
email me your address and I will get the broker to mail you a detailed specification of the cover

Thanks for clearing that up for us, as it could be very mis-leading for some people
