« on: October 27, 2006, 03:08:05 pm »
getting newish van next month ... Citreon dispatch ....
moving to 1/2 trad ..... 1/2 wfp .... then all wfp (hopefully)
the problem i have is do i go van mount or trolley.....
some of my houses have narrow back entrances .......
others are no problem ....
dunno what to do ....... Decent Trolley
or Decent van mount
(please dont say both as ive not won euro lottery yet)
been thinking about trolley to start ...then if i convert all my customers eventually buying van mount .. or should i just persevere and get v/mount ..
if i do get trolley i want a decent one that will last so any reccomendations or ideas would be a great help  ;)

What about a DIY Van Mount, they're not hard to do; so I believe, supplemented by a backpack for those hard to reach areas.

Van mount for me, started off with trolley but too much hassle changing
barrels. Remember time is money so go for a large tank.

Very easy to set up, as you live in Scotland all you need is tank, di vessel,
pump, hose, pole and brush and away you go.

Yip he's correct TDS ranges from 60 to 25 so all you need to purify your
water is a DI vessel and of course resin.

Just plug your hose pipe onto the DI vessel which then goes into your tank.
Takes hardly any time at all.

There are 2 suppliers in Scotland so on a rainy day you could take a look,
but they are not the cheapest.

can you purify the water and keep it in a larger container in the garage (E.G 1000ltr)
and pump that into van tank ......??

I went the DIY route, spent around £1000 but you can spend less than
  that.

Best thing to do is speak to someone near you who has WFP, only person
I know of is in Edinburgh.

A good Scottish site to find someone local to show you is this forum:-

The freedom trolley will go up most back alleyways

If really tight you may be suited to a backpack

I like the sound of a van mount and a backpack

Newish van, youve made me jealous now, last friday i needed a new windscreen this friday new clutch mind you mine is old :'(

best of luck

ive had a van mount for a couple of years, just purchased a backpack as well,it works a treat on those houses that i use to struggle taking the hose around the back or even through the house itself.

I have both trolley and van mount.

I started with the trolley omnitrolley and upgraded to a van system.

If i was to start WFP again i would start with a trolley again.
Due to some of my work i can't get the van near enough for the van system.

The trolley will go anywhere except over locked gates  ;D
But can still connect a hose to it for these.

With a trolley you can also use it as a mini van system just by adding a hose.

Go for a van mount its much easier to handle. All you have to do is run a hose from your car to your pole when can't take your car round to some houses. Simple!!  ;D ;D
