guys

why do we have to put up with people that hide their id? you allow them to register and hide any info about themselves? this allows them to be rude and say what they like without any embarrassment to themselves.

I am a professional and have respect for users views on here i expect it in return.

Ian i know what youare saying, and we do know a lot about you , your exploits and company.

Indeed when in Essex i look out for you and Doug.

Maybee next year we could meet for a drink.

However at present it isForum policy (ie Mikes) to allow hiden identitys.

I apreciate what you are saying however on a Window Blinds Forum I use several people use multiple identies.

Ie James Brown, Peter Jones  etc so sometimes a name does not prove anything.

On here due to Courses and Days out many people have seen Steve Gunn , Jason Hedges  Paul Moss etc and have concluded they are real people.

I sometimes think that if you do use a false identy it is safer to give information  but then your competitors will still see it, and if the idea was any good use it.

however if there was somthing you are uncertain about  a hidden identity makes it easier to ask question., if you did not want the world to know of your weakness.

Hopefully people do not worry about this but then we are all human.

I don't think you will ever resolve the problem you allude to.

Ok, so I know your name and when I hit the profile button, I am told you reside in Essex, you are male and your chosen language of communication is English.  Does that give me a feel for who you are or what you stand for.  Absolutely not.

I then hit the button for your website.  It doesn't give me a great deal more insight as to who you are - but makes me ask, 'Are you a sales agent for Solutions UK or do you have some commission arrangement with the manufacturers of The Prowler?'

All of this might be very interesting, but from the the above you might be the nicest guy on the forum but on the other hand the total opposite. From that info I can't tell.
What I can judge you on are the postings that you make on this forum & I am sure most other people here who do not know you in person, do the same

Thanks.

Many do know me and have meet me. I think its your actions that determine what type of person you are. BTW one way i use to judge people like you say id past posts. many have a common thread that runs though them. this will give you a fair view if they are negative or positive as you say.

Just so you know, I am just like you a selfemployd cleaner trying to make a living and help as many others as i can. I failed at it a few times so I know what its like to on your own. I thank many that have helped me in the time of my membership on here.

Thanks anyway

Not to add fuel to the fire here guys, but i run an inflatable industry forum as i also hire bouncy castles, and we have had the same sort of problem, with people joining and not completing there profiles, therefore we don't know who they are, so they think they can get away with slating other companys and being generally rude.  So we now require them to fill in certain things i.e there company name, real name and location when they register, if they dont complete these fields they cant register, then if we really wanted to check there identity we can google/yell.com the company name and phone them directly, and ask them to confirm that they are a user of the forum.
We don't allow multiple identies full stop, its an industry forum same as this and you become members to help others and to get help yourself when you need it, if you feel you need multiple accounts then i would guess you either have something to hide or have a hidden agenda, if you aren't prepared to ask the burning questions or give advice to others then really you shouldn't join a forum, just join an assocation where information is generally one way traffic

Hi

Ian if people are realy rude to you the post would be deleted by the moderators.

I think most people can make there own minds up as to the motives of posters, maybe not when they are new but if someone post for a number of years it is very difficult to hide their true motives.

we also made an introduction area on the forum, so you have to put a post in this area introducing yourselves before the rest of the industry boards are visable, it has helped because atleast you know (or hope) you know whos who

I have always had respect for people who can educate me and others, because knowledge  is presses commodity,  but unfortunately there are some people in life society who are narrow  minded and pessimistic in any thing you have to say , specially if you are foreign, so that’s why some of us hide our identity.

Thank you, that's i very good reminder that there is always someone that's worse off. fear can only be bet by facing it. cleaning is a multicultural business like many today. I would hope that there is a greater understanding here and less tolerance to those narrow minded people.

Why should you be concerned by peoples' I D, or lack of it. This is a forum inhabited, mostly, by people who are are involved in the cleaning industry. But not all, as the public can access the forum and it gets breached by others for malicious intent, or for gain.

When I speak to someone, face to face, I have a quiet, voice, a reasonably anonymous dialect and am interested in other people. As a result. I discover a great deal about people in a short time, but they also discover a lot about me.

To put this across on a computer screen, at least in my case, is impossible.

Very few people have the gift of writing, as they talk, women are much better at that, as a result, the reader can only guess what the writer is trying to say and will often get it completely wrong.

Some appear to " shoot from the hip "others, like myself, come across as sarcastic, or uncompromising, a few, just crack jokes. Others are OTT technically, because of their past lives, or in some cases they're trying to impress. The real person may be completely different.

Ive only met a few of the people on here and they are all, just people who happen to be in the same industry as me !

As far as profiles are concerned, they contain as much as you want to volunteer, but you can easily find out more about someone, by asking questions.

If I filled in an accurate profile, it would run and run, as I started working in 1960 and have had a variety of jobs, from Golf Pro, to Driving Instructor, to College Lecturer, entering the cleaning business purely by accident, oh! forgot to mention, I am a qualified pelvic / spinal realignment therapist.

I earned around £2500 per week 25 years ago, thats about £6000 per week in todays figures, which very few will ever reach.................SO WHAT.

All of the above and more has been mentioned in posts over the past 3 or 4 years, but that is not evident in my profile, as I previously posted under a different name, but stopped for a while, when I upset some of the enthusiastic converts to a particular range of products and I was regarded as the problem, rather than the guy taking their money.

I post from my lifes experience, whether positive, or negative and will inevitably ruffle a few feathers along the way, my intention is always to give a personal perspective, usually from experience.

As I said before............if I had your computer skills I would be making a living from my computer !

OMG...................which case exactly???????????????//

Ian

Read the post, I was a teaching pro, with a shop, but the high earnings referred to, came from a very successful business, which I've mentioned before and obviously, you have to be pretty good at any sport to become a pro'

You see...............you stroke a few t's and volunteer personal information and what happens

Some people carry chips on their shoulder and probably will never shake them off, I though I was doing the honourable thing, as others see it, clearly I was wrong.
