I am only cleaning carpets at the moment so I like some help to price up carpets please.

depends where you are based there is nothing on your profile . down here it tends to be around the £3 m2 mark.

domestic or commercial? i'll assume domestic, may well depend on the market you target and quility of carpets to be cleaned, cheap carpets in a council house to thousands worth of wilton you may well want to be charge more for the latter.

I just quoted an asian in an upmarket property with expensive carpets. Was told that their local franchise with a truck mount last charged £45.00 for cleaning a gruby big double bedroom, single bedroom and stairs/ landing. That lot worked out at about 7p per sqft if that. The cheeky sod.

East Midlands £2.50 (light soiled) to £3.75 (and beyond) per sq. M for more heavy soiled carpets and I apply the same criteria to upholstery - hope this helps. £45 min call out.

  It`s been a wk since I started cc but what I like to say is i hate giving low prices just becouse i can get more customers this way plus I believe to keep your qualits high is more important then getting a lot more work in. I think a better service always cost more time and money the standart is very important.

Kopuk, charge what you think you are worth (within reason). i e if you complete an inspection survey on every job and prevac etc plus you have full insurance and training then i my opinion you are worth more than the geezer down the pub thats on the dole and lends a george and a bex bissell from his mother in law to earn some beer money on a weekend.  Another way to look at it is to charge what you NEED to i.e, work out your oveheads and find out how much you need to earn to survive + make some profit, i work out my average job value every now and again this i a good way of working out what you need to charge as you can calculate a Price PSM needed from the average amount you are cleaning per job and how many jobs you do a month.
