 I cleaned carpets at a property on saturday morning and the lounge immediately started to come up in bubbles after prespaying, it was the same carpet through out the house  and i had already cleaned 2 bedrooms and stairs with out any problems.

Am i right in thinking that there is a chance the lounge carpet has delaminated and would you say this a fault in the carpet or as a direct result of cleaning.
The carpet is a wool twist and is approx 5 years old, never cleaned reasonable level of soiling and quite a few marks in main areas.

Cleaned using craftex champion and then rinse extracted using premium clean.

I find it odd that this has only occured in the lounge and not in any other area as they were all cleaned the same way and the carpet all originally came off the same roll. Will it settle back once totally dry or do i need to brace my self for an insurance claim.

I have been carpet cleaning for 14 years and never had such a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have ad this problem before with lounge carpets and they have all gone back down taught after a short whle. A lounge carpet is obviously a lot bigger than a bedroom so has a larger area to stretch.

When i did one of my first carpets, it bubbled and i said to the customer about it. She said it's okay, it happens when i clean a patch, and it's the latex. She knew because she worked in a carpet factory making them.

I believe it's called reflex relaxaton. Use the search to find other postings on this.

better to streach a carpet than shrink one 

i would be careful using such a high ph prespray & rinse on a wool carpet other wise

you will have a insurance claim

I didnt think you were meant to use champion on wool.

John.  Champian is 13.5ph and premium clean is 11.5 which in your case leaves the carpet in a very high alkaline state, you should rinse with acid ph4 to neutrolise otherwise you will damage the carpet.if you leave this carpet in this state it causes a problem known as felting which means stripping the cutical of the wool,not sure if i have spelt that right ,but the carpet will loose its bouncy effect and go flat

The bubbles settled down and the lady has rang and booked me to clean her rental propert next week because she is thrilled with the carpets.

Glad to hear it. I cleaned a lounge carpet the one day and you could see the ripples appearing. If the customer mentions the waves, tell em to buy a boat
