Here's my two penn'orth on my Prochem Blazer Plus, bought two years ago. Their service is good, any bits you need are there first class post next day. Drawbacks: water pump only rated to 1000psi so not up to powerwashing as an add-on. Engine 18hp B&S Vanguard quite noisy on small housing estates. Water tank badly designed - no internal baffles, fill through the large filler cap
(modded mine with bog standard ballcock valve); heat exchanger can leak water into exhaust; it also bypasses water straight to waste tank so if doing a flood extraction you need to start with a tank of water! ( another mod - pipe it back to the water tank through a bit of hose as I did. Seems to work.). Otherwise its good kit and later developments may have cured these probs. I gather Chemspec offer a good t/m with a 3000psi pump but I have not seen it in action.

Eric

I also have a Blazer plus bought new in 2005 and i think i am correct in stating that the water pump on this system is rated a lot higher than 1000 psi and to achieve this, a smaller pulley is all that would need to be fitted to enable it to run at a higher rate. This is in the actual cat pump manual. I cant see the engine coming to any harm by driving the pump faster.

I would be interested in any mods you have carried out, especially diverting water back to the clean tank, etc.

The water tank i found could have been better and there were no seals on the two large caps.

What you have to be careful of is the pressure capacity of the heat exchanger. A lot of these can't cope with more than 1000psi.

John

Are the heat exchangers expensive to replace and easy or hard to get access to itself on the machine? and could they technically be exchanged for a higher spec one?

Not sure about particular models, you would have to enquire with the dealer. However the heat exchanger is a major component.
