Hotel Chairs & Soafs?
« on: September 07, 2006, 04:39:29 pm »
Hi

I have been asked to quoate for a hotel restaurant chairs and sofas.

I would use a Prochem Blazer on them but was wondering the best solutions, presprays & spotters to use,

Fabric & Fibre

Microsplitters

Fabric shampoo.

Obviouslyy a lot of staining on the chairs food, wine, water etc.

Chance here to get their other 2 hotels also.

As a dry carpet cleaner this would be my first foray into HWE (dragged kicking & screaming ;)) I could pass it over but about time I entered the upholstery market (yes I have done the course) But figured it pointless to keep passing on the work, already passed over 3-4 suites this year (from YP)

Thanks in advance

Regards

Alltec fabric pre wash, mix it up in a bucket, then massage all over chairs with hand mitten.

Then extract.

Why are so many afraid of upholstery.? We have cleaned upholstery since day one, back in 1998 in my case and '83 in my husbands.

There are a few problem suites, but you can always walk away, if unsure. There were more problematic fabrics, ten years ago, than now.

Hi Angie,

Talking of day one.......

Officially started up in business this week. My first paying job was a dusky pink chenille suite quite heavily soiled on the arms and seat cushions.

I colour tested, checked my pH's, Prevaced, spotted stains, presprayed, agitated with a soft brush and extracted. It came up bright pink, like new. my client was very pleased and so was I.

I did the NCCA course at the end of May and followed what I was shown there using the chemicals I had already had.

The suite took me 4 hrs but I could have done it quicker, by the end I was just getting a good technique together with the hand tool.

Looking forward to doing many more in future. Also saves you having to wash you're trousers in a machine!  :)

Martin, I would say (with limited experience) if you use the fabric presprays and extraction chems from all of the big guns, and do exactly what it says on the tin, you'll get good results.

for the dining chairs i would take an iron and brown paper as from my experiance there will be wax all over them. try also an emzine digester as there will be lots of food stains. A good stiff nail brush is also in item you will be needing as there are lots of dust and crumbs in the crevesses berween the base and back.
