I know what you mean.
What a sad bunch we are.
Veni, vidi, vino, splatus.

 (I came, I saw, I drank, I fell over...)

Not at all, Gary.

When you first start your hampered by a lack of fitness, technique, skill and knowledge; and to top it all off; you end up with the worst jobs going; stuff that hasn't been cleaned in months/years and quite often the accounts that other established window cleaners have avoided.

Second cleans are honestly something to look forward too.

By the time you get to your 36th clean; you'll be flying.

Stick with it and keep your sense of humour; you'll need it, mate.

cheers Tosh,

I Mean it when i say i enjoy it but i will be glad when a filthy first clean is an odd one here and there,
and you are right they all seem hard to get at or very high or something on them lines.

Also being in a company car for ten years has made me slightly unfit,

i thought i was ok, im not overweight, and visit the gymm sometimes,

but with this job i can feel myself getting fitter by the day,

I just wish it was every FULL day,  as just when i get into it for a couple of days,  i have to stop as no work for a day or two,  so i feel slightly in limbo at the its like starting all over again with the fitness thing..

but its brilliant this forum, and all the guys are terrific, so thanks again, god i cant wait to build it.  ;)

This week i'm starting 3rd cleans and boy oh boy how easy are they now, not only are the windows and frames cleaner you know about access, where to put your ladders for best position etc etc.
Yesterday i cleaned 10 houses and last month took me all day. Not only did i do them all, i picked up a new one and had tea at a former work place for an hour :D
Time out including travelling was just over 6 hours, cant be bad, Mrs couldnt believe i had finished when i did.

GAZZASP8, it will happen just keep plugging im no expert but things for me are now just happening, im getting to the point where if i pick up a new one there can be a chance of not doing it there and then due to a full day, a lot of my work is reccomendations or if people see you cleaning again (as they didnt think you would come back) they come and have a chat, even though i have canvassed that particular street.
Oh and the forum is a great source of info and i visit daily and on the whole evertyone is very helpfull

I've been getting this, what i do is explain what extra they get for their money, like doors, frams, sills etc etc, i have gained a few like this as they get annoyed that the current cleaner doesnt do it and they are willing to pay extra.

Usually what i find with the cleaners who under charge for a particular area are only cleaning the glass and not even wiping sills, i suppose they look to do 30-40 cleans a day which are not too good but cheap, rather than 10-20 GOOD cleans at a reasonable price

My ex-Wor Lass who lives in a good-sized semi with a garage you'd have to pull your ladders over has a window cleaner who charges her £2.50 every month.

She lives in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland; and her window cleaner must be mad; but he does do a good job; I've seen his work.
