FREEDOM VAN MOUNT
« on: September 03, 2006, 10:04:10 pm »

Just seen the new van mount from Freedom on ebay, not trying to run them
down but was trying to look how they have secured the 650l tank. Looks
as if it is secured it to the boards in the van, surely this is not a good advert
  on tank safety.

I may be wrong but would have chosen a picture showing the tank actually
  secured to the van.

It certainly doesn't look very reassuring.

As for the horizontal i suppose it saves storage space this way.

Looks like to me it was just put in the van to take the picture. The system is sitting outside the van, then positioned in the van, no bolts through the straps. The van was probably borrowed for the pics.

I agree, I think they've just put the tank and straps in the van to show what it could look like. There's no bolts through those straps. I actually have the exact tank and straps in my van but I bolted them through the chassis, not just the floorpan.

I hope it is for illustration perpose's only because all that ply-wood would add a fair bit to the gross weight. it wouldn't last long in a wc van with all the water.

Just to clarify.

The pictures in that advert are for illustration purposes only.

Looks like a nice bit of kit to me and with those straps over it and bolted to the floor correctly i would have no worries in driving around with in the back of a van.
