We load the rig with 8x 56lb weights (448lb) so as to allow for a rescue or any shock loading, It's ok being trained in self rescue but if you are unconcious or badly injured you would need the assistance of another person and they would need to use the same anchor point, which is why we have a lot more weight on the rig. The theory behind rope access is to allways have a back up system in place, 2 ropes , 2 anchor points etc and to have a rescue procedure in place before any work commences. We use a sit harness coupled with a chest harness(not full body) and use a seat on long drops for comfort, ropes are all 11mm semi static.
