Hose reel Tail Length
« on: December 26, 2025, 01:26:29 pm »
Hi all, I have decided to run with the hotwater hose that came with the reel. Looking for any thoughts on length of 8mm PU hose that we attach to the heavy hotwater hose. The biggest wfp I run with is 47 feet so thinking about 60 feet because I run hoseless. All thoughts welcome.

We have 100 meters of microbore and 25 meters of green pu hose joined together on each reel and finds this works well .

Only you can answer this question as you know your round and parking issues.

There is only one customer we have now that we have to use the full 100 meters of hose on. For this reason, I wouldn't run anything less than 100 meters on my hose reels because of this one customer. Otherwise, I could get away with 60 meters.

Years back we had a council office block and children's day care centre which had a large ground footprint. We needed the full 100 meters to clean that property every 4 weeks. In fact, I had considered ordering a length of 150m of hose as that would have made that job so much easier. But I stuck with that job for 11 years before the council decided they could save money by employing their own window cleaning team they set up.

I was asking what amount of PU hose should I add to my 100m of hotwater hose. I join the PU hose to the 11mm hose with a recktas 21 fitting so that if I get a pinhole from a rose bush then I just replace the PU part. S&D runs with 25m's so I will try that and see how it goes. Thanks for the replies.

You guys run with 25m of pole hose ?

Whats the thinking behind this ? to make it lighter i assume but doesnt it offer the same resistance when you are pulling it off the reel and arent you pulling on the rectus fitting as you do so ...

I like the idea of having the lighter hose i just wondered how it works in reality doesnt it kink up and not lay flat ?

At the moment, I'm running with 100m's of pole hose on my reel. Its great to move about with but when I stop and talk the hose cools down quickly. When running hot, its more flexible and makes everything alot easier. With the new reel, I'm only going to run with 25m's and where they join together all I do is tape the fitting with insulation tape which holds them together and it works because they haven't came apart in the last 6 years.

We run hose less setup so the pole  hose is  on the reels we find  it’s so much quicker we use hot water so the hose lays flat anyway  and no hose on the poles to coil up
